This rosewood chest appears to have six drawers, the second and third drawers fronts make up a door face that drops down to reveal a marble lined compartment which was used to conceal odors and or preserve goods.
The top, which is in excellent condition, has edged corners. The marble is in excellent original condition, the minor cracks are age appropriate and provide beautiful patina. The chest has a minor cracks running down the sides as shown on the pictures. It does not distract, take away or interfere with the piece or its looks. Noticeable only if you are looking for them, these are consistent with age/use.
